about

Another album from the pre-Nerdcore archive, this multi-genre electronic music record was basically my first complete project using Propellerhead's Reason software. Mostly composed on a mini-desktop that I chose to spend money on over going to my high school's graduation formal (our weird alternative school substitute for a prom,) you can tell I was mostly trying a lot of different genres - Drum n' Bass, Ambient, Illbient, LoFi/Chill, Eurobeat and more - just trying to get some mastery of the new software.

Thematically, it's pretty obvious how much anime & manga were already influencing my visual aesthetic, but also the sound of the album, which is basically wannabe Toonami interstitial music. It's also kind of an homage to one of my favorite drum n' bass albums, the Cities Collection by Jordana f/k/a 1.8.7, but really only by naming scheme. It doesn't bang the way my newer Dn'B does at least.
